The Trinamool Congress (TMC) continued to attack the Election Commission (EC)-appointed poll observers for West Bengal on Sunday, with party chief and chief minister Mamata Banerjee accusing the officials of “insulting” the state’s people and working at the behest of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). “The [poll] officers are abusing and insulting the people of the state. The BJP is trying to run a parallel government in the state. They are trying to help the BJP... Bengal will not tolerate any kind of abuse,” she said during a rally in Nadia district.
